Alcatraz AI, a prominent biometric authentication company, is rolling out a series of updates to its facial scanning devices and software platform, aimed at enhancing security and access control. The new features, totaling over a dozen, are designed to meet the evolving needs of customers operating in corporate campuses, high-security industries, and critical infrastructure.
The Rock, Alcatraz AI's facial authentication security and access control system, will now include tailgating detection built directly into the device, eliminating the need for separate sensors. This feature will help prevent unauthorized access and enhance overall security. Additionally, the new Rock X device will enable two-way voice communication at the door, improving user convenience and interaction.
Another significant update is the introduction of face-only access for trusted individuals, such as VIPs or high-clearance personnel. This feature allows these individuals to bypass two-factor authentication (2FA) for a more seamless experience, while everyone else will still be required to use 2FA. Biometric matching can now be restricted to pre-enrolled cardholders, making it an opt-in feature. Customers will also have the ability to use their own DocuSign accounts for biometric consent, adding an extra layer of flexibility and control.
The company is also expanding its support for RightCrowd PIAM and on-prem web enrollment with SMTP control. These updates will enhance visitor management, security event logging, reader group persistence, and real-time provisioning visibility. These improvements are designed to simplify the management of access control systems and provide administrators with greater visibility and control.
According to Vince Gaydarzhiev, founder and president of Alcatraz AI, these updates demonstrate the company's commitment to evolving its system in line with customer security strategies and the challenges of physical access. “This release shows how our architecture scales intelligently while continuing to simplify life for administrators, integrators, and end users,” says Gaydarzhiev.
Headquartered in Cupertino, California, Alcatraz AI has been working with companies such as Convergint and CBORD to expand its biometric security footprint in the corporate and education sectors. The full suite of updates will be available on July 28th, further strengthening Alcatraz AI's position as a leader in Facial Authentication as a Service (FAaaS).
These new capabilities are expected to enhance the security and efficiency of access control systems, making them more adaptable to the diverse needs of various industries and environments.
