Client: The City School
Deployment Scope: 1 School (450+ users), expanded to 8 schools with 3,400+ students
The City School is a modern educational institution that emphasizes early digital literacy. Students begin using computers in fifth grade and continue through high school. The institution has fully networked computer labs with internet access, and teachers use digital platforms to track student progress, attendance, and academic records.
The school currently supports over 450 users at its primary site, including students, faculty, and staff.
The school’s IT department encountered two key identity and access management challenges:
Children aged 6–8 had difficulty remembering and entering passwords. Teachers were forced to spend valuable class time assisting with password resets, impacting both learning time and IT productivity.
Older students occasionally shared passwords with peers, allowing unauthorized access to unapproved websites, violating school internet usage policies and compromising user accountability.
These issues collectively reduced instructional time, undermined system security, and burdened IT staff with repetitive administrative tasks
After a thorough evaluation of available technologies, the school selected a biometric fingerprint login solution developed and supported by BioEnable Technologies, delivered via local partner Data Construction.
This solution ensured:
Only authenticated users could access school computers
Students no longer needed to remember or reset passwords
System misuse was eliminated due to non-shareable biometric identity
A pilot with 60 students and teachers was launched
Deployed in 1 computer lab for user testing and feedback
Integrated with existing school software and user directories
After 1 month of success, expanded to all 450 users
Included flexible biometric hardware (TimeScan, NAC3000, Hamster)
Provided device compatibility across USB, LAN, Serial & Parallel ports
Based on the pilot’s success, 8 more schools adopted the solution
Over 3,400 students and faculty now use biometric login daily
Schools gained autonomy to select compatible biometric devices
BioEnable was selected over other vendors for the following reasons:
Multi-port hardware support: USB, Serial, LAN, Parallel
Custom integration into the existing Windows environment
Proven experience in biometric deployments across education
On-site support during testing, training, and deployment
Scalable system fit for multi-school rollout
The biometric login solution delivered by BioEnable significantly enhanced classroom productivity, eliminated password-related issues, and improved access security in a student-friendly and scalable way. By replacing traditional passwords with fingerprint-based authentication, City School has set a new standard in secure, child-friendly educational IT systems.
This success story is now expanding across multiple educational institutions looking to modernize user access and improve digital identity management.
