MOSIP Announces Second Digital ID Hackathon: MOSIP Create

The MOSIP Create hackathon, a key event for the open digital ID platform, is now accepting registrations from September 4 to October 1. This initiative aims to foster innovation in digital identity solutions using MOSIP's core infrastructure and platforms. 

The second edition of the MOSIP Create initiative has officially kicked off with a call for registration, running from September 4 to October 1. MOSIP Create is a significant event for the open digital ID platform, designed as a combined hackathon and mentorship program. It aims to support the development of innovative digital identity solutions by leveraging MOSIP’s core infrastructure, as well as its Inji and eSignet platforms.

The program is open to a wide range of participants, including digital ID and biometrics solutions providers, expert developers, and organizations from both the public and private sectors. According to MOSIP’s LinkedIn post, the initiative encourages collaboration and innovation to create real-world digital identity solutions.

Once the registration period concludes, participants are expected to submit their projects by December 1. An eminent panel of external experts will judge the submissions, and the winners will have the opportunity to attend the next edition of MOSIP Connect in February 2026. They will also get the chance to showcase their solutions at the MOSIP Create Discovery Solution area, receive main stage spotlight, and potentially win awards and recognitions.

The previous edition of MOSIP Create, held online, was deemed highly successful. Many participants were from MOSIP’s network of ecosystem partners, including established technology companies, startups, and the broader commercial ecosystem. Throughout the event, these participants will work closely with MOSIP experts to co-create and develop digital ID solutions that can be applied in real-world scenarios.

The goal of MOSIP Create is to foster the development of ready-for-market digital public infrastructure (DPI) across various themes. These themes include digital ID for service access, digital KYC for inclusive identity verification, digital ID for financial inclusion, and credential facilitation. The program is designed to encourage solution providers to integrate their ready-to-market digital identity solutions with MOSIP’s open-source ID platform and products, refining them for practical use cases aligned with the UN SDGs.

MOSIP Create is part of the identity platform’s broader efforts to expand its ecosystem, strengthen collaborations with global partners, and enhance the impact of transforming lives through real-world digital ID deployments. Companies like Credence ID and ROC have recently joined the MOSIP ecosystem partner lists, further bolstering the platform’s reach and capabilities.
