Innovatrics, a Slovakian biometric company, has secured a top 10 spot in the latest NIST 1:N facial recognition leaderboard, particularly excelling in border control scenarios. 

Innovatrics, a leading biometric technology company based in Slovakia, has secured a prominent position in the latest National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 1 N facial recognition leaderboard.

According to a recent release, their latest facial recognition algorithm has cracked the top ten, specifically in a border control scenario, out of over 150 algorithms evaluated on November 8, 2024.

Innovatrics' performance in the border control category, which involves comparing a face photo with one on a visa application, places them among the top 3 providers of Automated Biometric Identification Systems (ABIS).

This is a significant achievement, especially considering that they are competing against much larger firms like NEC and Idemia.

NEC continues to dominate the leaderboard, holding the first position in the Mugshot (N=12 million), Visa-Kiosk, and longitudinal categories with an algorithm submitted last year.

Additionally, the leaderboard includes several new entrants, including QazSmartVisionAI from Kazakhstan, VinBigData from Vietnam, OptiExacta from India, and the psl_002 algorithm developed by Panasonic R+D Center Singapore.
