Enrollment: A user's fingerprints are scanned and critical features (minutiae) like ridge endings and bifurcations are extracted. This data is converted into a mathematical template and securely stored.
Authentication: When a user places their finger on the scanner, a new template is generated and compared against the stored template. If there's a sufficient match, authentication is granted.
