A fingerprint sensor is a scanner on which users can swap their fingers. When a finger is swapped on a fingerprint sensor during fingerprint enrolment process, the sensor captures the image and stores it in the database. After the fingerprint sensor has successfully stored the image in the database, it then becomes ready to identify the individual on the basis of biometric attributes.
In order to use biometric identification, fingerprint sensor can be a best option, but with a few drawbacks. Since fingerprint scanner requires employees to swap their fingers, which enforces them to get in physical contact with the sensor, sometimes the life of the fingerprint sensor is decreased because of dusty or wet fingers. Moreover, in case the fingers are wrinkled, the biometric identification might not be performed accurately using fingerprint sensor.
