Access control policies

As far as access control policy concerns, different organizations have different policies according to their requirements. Access control is the process of securing resources and data that is maintained by a system that has been running in an organization. For an organization, Access control policy is a high definition set of laws that restrains the access to sensitive resources or properties. To fine-grain security measures, different access control policies can be defined on different criterion to permit or deny accessibility permissions on resources or properties. Access control policies have been grouped in three major categories:

  1. Discretionary (DAC)

  2. Mandatory (MAC)

  3. Role- based (RBAC)
